Non-ferrous metals are all metals other than iron, chromium and manganese, and non-ferrous metals also include non-ferrous alloys. The country in 1958 will be iron, chromium, manganese included in the ferrous metals; and will be iron, chromium, manganese other than 64 kinds of metal included in the non-ferrous metals.

Characteristics of non-ferrous metals: non-ferrous alloys of strength and hardness is generally higher than pure metal, resistance than pure metal, resistance temperature coefficient is small, with good comprehensive mechanical properties. Commonly used non-ferrous alloys are aluminum alloys, copper alloys, magnesium alloys, nickel alloys, tin alloys, tantalum alloys, titanium alloys, zinc alloys, molybdenum alloys, zirconium alloys and so on. Non-ferrous metals are the basic materials for the development of national economy, aviation, aerospace, automobile, machinery manufacturing, electric power, communication, construction, home appliances and other most of the industries are based on the production of non-ferrous metal materials. With the rapid progress of modern chemical industry, agriculture and science and technology, non-ferrous metals are becoming more and more important in human development. It is not only the world’s important strategic materials, important means of production, but also indispensable to human life in the consumption of important materials.
