Copper pipe welding method
There are two main types of copper pipe welding methods: gas welding and electric welding.
Gas welding
You need to use oxyacetylene flame to heat the copper pipe to the right temperature, and then use copper welding wire to weld. This method is simple to operate, does not require much equipment, and can be used outdoors. However, fire safety needs to be taken care of, the gas needs to be stored and used correctly, and special attention needs to be paid to safety during operation.
Electric welding
It mainly uses the current between the copper tube and electrode to heat up, and the copper wire is added to the welding part at the proper temperature to achieve the welding effect. This method can be operated indoors, but requires some special equipment, such as an electric welder and copper welding wire. The operation is a little more complicated and requires some skills.
Copper pipe welding notes and techniques
1, clean copper pipe: welding must be clean before the surface of the copper pipe, copper welding wire can be fully melted and adhesion. Commonly used cleaning method is to use a steel wire ball to gently wipe the surface of the copper pipe.
2, adjust the temperature: before welding to determine the appropriate welding temperature, based on the thickness of the copper pipe wall and welding process and different. If the temperature is too high or the welding time is too long, the copper pipe will become fragile.
3, choose the right welding wire: copper welding wire according to different copper pipe thickness, need to choose different diameter welding wire. In use, the copper welding wire should be evenly heated to the melting state, so that it can be evenly wetted to the surface of the copper pipe.
4, master the welding skills: in the welding process, to try to make the copper welding wire and copper pipe surface fit, do not completely melt the copper welding wire, in keeping with the appropriate welding time and the right temperature, the welding wire and the surface of the copper pipe uniformly melted and bonded together.
5, protection of welding parts: after welding must be welded to protect the welding parts, so as to avoid the occurrence of reactions and leakage in the welded parts and so on. Commonly used method is to use welding adhesive or lime powder and other substances to be coated.
Third, the summary
Welding copper pipe requires more attention, but as long as you master the skills and methods of welding, you can easily complete the welding work. When operating, be sure to pay extra attention to safety to avoid accidents.
