According to the industrial division, the terminal block also belongs to the category of connector, which is an accessory product used to realize the electrical connection. In fact, it is a piece of metal, is sealed in the insulating plastic, can be inserted from the two ends of the hole in the wire, with screws to fix the tightness. For example, two wires, sometimes need to be connected, sometimes need to be disconnected, we can use the terminal block to connect them and disconnect them at any time, without having to weld them up or twist them together, very convenient and quick. Especially suitable for a large number of interconnected wires, in the electric power industry, there are special terminal row, terminal box, above all terminals, divided into: single, double, current, voltage, ordinary, can be broken and so on.

Conductivity is the primary role of the terminals, wires through the terminals and circuit boards, controllers and other connections to ensure the normal operation of the equipment. Factors affecting the conductive properties of the terminals are: the choice of conductive materials, the design of the contact structure of the terminals, the size of the conductive components of the settings and the conductive material surface plating treatment.

Terminal will be copper as a conductive material, its conductivity is second only to the silver listed in the first metal, with superior electrical and mechanical properties, high hardness, not easy to deformation; outer layer of tin plating, enhance the anticorrosion properties of the terminal.
Copper in accordance with the performance can be divided into high conductive copper, high strength copper and medium strength low conductive copper, high conductive copper generally require conductivity of 60% IACS or more, yield strength of 500MPa or so. Mainly used in high-current connection occasions, such as base station power connectors, new energy vehicle connectors, lead frames and smart phone connectors contact parts copper. Commonly used alloy series are copper violet, tellurium copper and chromium zirconium copper. High-strength copper generally requires a yield strength of 900MPa or more, conductivity of about 20% IACS. Mainly used for signal connection parts, such as VCM shrapnel, headset shrapnel, SIM card and aviation, aerospace, communications, military and other high-reliability connector contact parts copper. Commonly used alloy series are beryllium copper, titanium copper and so on.

Medium-strength low-conductivity copper generally requires a yield strength of 500MPa or so, the conductivity of 10 ~ 65% IACS, mainly used in the automotive, electrical and electronics industries on the strength and conductivity have certain requirements of the connector contact pieces of copper. Commonly used alloy series are nickel-silicon copper, tin bronze, lead brass and ordinary brass.
