Copper tubes can be divided into three main categories: phosphorus deoxygenated copper tubes, purple copper tubes, and oxygen-free copper tubes, let’s have a brief introduction below.
TP2 is phosphorus deoxygenated copper, copper national standard is 99.90%, but the melting process added about 0.015% of phosphorus, the purpose is to improve the welding performance of copper pipe, mainly used for air-conditioning welding of more products to avoid “hydrogen embrittlement”, than T2 easy to weld.
Because of the phosphorus element added to the TP2 material, so the TP2 ductility is relatively large. It is widely used in the manufacturing fields of air-conditioner refrigeration connecting pipe, stove gas connecting pipe and electric heating pipe.
T2 is pure copper, the copper content is higher than 99.90%, when the user has high conductivity requirements for the material, T2 copper tube will be the first choice.
TU1 is oxygen-free copper, simply put, it is a higher purity of copper, copper content ≥ 99.97%, oxygen and impurity content is very low, of which the content of phosphorus is less than 0.002%, excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, ductility is good, processing performance and welding, corrosion resistance, cold resistance are better. At the same time, due to the significant reduction in the number of second-phase particles inside the TU1 grains and grain boundaries out of the TU1 organization consistency is much better than TP2, so the ductility of TU1 is greatly enhanced. Enhanced ductility brings better processing consistency. You should know that the two ends of the connecting tube should be flared, flared is actually the original copper tube material through the pulling and extrusion deformation to form a horn, TU1 strain distribution uniformity than TP2 has obvious advantages, that is to say, if the TU1 material to do the connecting tube, the flared processing will be more stable and reliable connecting the tube’s sealing properties are also more stable. Because of its high production requirements and high cost, its product price is much higher than other categories of copper tubes.
General processing molding of copper pipe, mainly divided into hard state, semi-hard state, soft state of three, different forms of flexibility is also different, generally can be determined by bending the copper pipe, high quality copper pipe is very easy to bend off, but if it is very difficult to bend or bend after the appearance of cracks, indicating that the quality of copper fittings is not too good.
